Is being a mother a beautiful thing? A unique, wonderful experience? Is it always wonderful or maybe gets a little bit tiring, sometimes? What if a mum would like to get out of the house for one afternoon and have fun?… Every mother has moments when she wants to shoot herself into space. Every mother, although no one will admit it, at least once in her life thought of throwing the screaming baby out the window.

 

The project engaged Mums (including single parenting ones) and non-Mums: women who don’t have children and maybe don’t even want them. We met every week for nine months, the length of a pregnancy, to birth a common child: the performance. Participants have collectively developed the script, designed the set, chose costumes and performed on stage.
